Meet our Fall 2017 Rookies:
Congratulations, ladies, and we cannot wait to work with you this season!
The season is officially underway! We spent August 7th- 9th at Boston University attending NDA Camp in preparation for the upcoming Nationals season. We left with a spirit stick, two ribbons, 3 "Pin It Forward" Recipients, 3 All American Nominees, an All American Winner, and a Silver Bid to Nationals for being the "Most Improved"Team at camp. We are so thankful for all of the time and effort the NDA staff put into helping our team grow and improve throughout camp.
Our three lead captains and treasurer had an amazing experience at the Pro Action Dance Convention in Las Vegas over the weekend. They spent two days learning game day routines from so many talented choreographers and were able to meet many collegiate and professional dancers, as well. We are so excited to bring these routines to life on the court this season!
BMAX (Berler Maximum Activation Xtreme) founder, Andy Berler, and VP of Operations, Kaitlin Cotter, stopped by the Cabot Gymnasium to work out our dancers!
BMAX is a complete less than 30-minute full body fitness program that delivers the five critical health components of physical fitness in EVERY workout: CARDIO HEALTH, FLEXIBILITY, MUSCULAR STRENGTH, MUSCULAR ENDURANCE, & BODY COMPOSITION! This program is the official workout for professional and college dance and cheer teams across the country, including the New England Patriots Cheerleaders.
Big thanks to Andy and Kaitlin for keeping our team motivated and #BMAXstrong! We're thrilled to be a part of the BMAXfam!
Meet Our Fall 2016 Rookies!
Congratulations, Ladies! We're thrilled to have you join our family this season!
Dance Team has had a busy start to the year! We held auditions in April and September and added nine talented dancers to our team! Since then, we have been working hard on learning game day routines, training for nationals and supporting Northeastern Athletics on campus. We've participated in events like Midnight Madness, Fall Fest, and Homecoming Weekend and attended Soccer, Hockey and Volleyball games so far.
With the basketball season just days away, we've perfected many of the dances we learned at Pro Action in Vegas this summer. A few of our favorites are to Milkshake and Shut Up and Dance, so now we're just counting down the days till we can perform them!
We have also been hard at work fundraising for Nationals this spring. Our team has done a brunch at Conor Larkin's, a Yankee Candle Fundraiser, a workshop with Pro NBA Dancers and a Catalyst fundraiser. We have many more events and campaigns coming up, and appreciate all the support we've received!
Check back for more updates from our season! #seeyouonthecourt
This Wednesday, 12/3, the Northeastern Dance Team will be hosting a fundraiser at the Boloco on campus! Click here for the event page.
Bring the attached flyer to Boloco NEU the night of December 3rd, and 18% of your purchase will be donated to the NEU Dance Team. All funds will help us reach our goal of competing in the NDA Championships in Daytona, Florida this spring!
We appreciate your help, and can't wait to see you there!
NUDT Coach Kay and Captain Brittany spent the morning giving back with Community Servings, picking up and delivering pies for families in need! It's extremely important to Coach Kay that NUDT gives back as part of our commitment to the community. Thanks ladies!
After a fierce battle with Navy and Manhattan University, the NU Men's basketball team has one the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun! Thanks for the great game!
Northeastern rode a hot-shooting first half to a 20-point halftime lead and never looked back in a 65-51 victory over Manhattan (1-3) in the championship game of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff at Mohegan Sun Arena. NU captured its first in-season tournament title since 2009 and improved to 4-0 for just the fourth time since the NCAA instituted Division I classification in 1973.
In a fantastic season opener, Northeastern Men's basketball won against BU and NUDT debuted three new dances.
David Walker poured in a career-high 23 points and Northeastern overcame an 11-point second-half deficit to defeat rival Boston University, 71-65, on Sunday afternoon at TD Garden in Boston. The win—part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Triple Header—was the Huskies’ fourth over their city rival in the last five meetings.
We had a blast and can't wait for the rest of the season!
